EJP maintains a computer lab at Danville Correctional Center. Students use it to produce assignments and notes, watch uploaded content (there is no internet), and gain confidence on computers. Some instructors also hold classes in the lab. EJP students provide tech support. We aim for the lab to be a valued and vibrant space that supports community building within the program while comfortably and efficiently meeting the various functions that take place in the room.

The lab was created with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and serves as one of the few dedicated computer labs run by a college-in-prison program. We’re especially proud of the role that EJP students play in lab management and policy.
